I think because Bev, most of our MSM is American owned. I have though noticed a definite right turn at CBC that I’m really not happy with. There are also moves toward authoritarianism world wide, and I think it affects all the news. But I also believe there is emerging a hard turn toward democracy. I cite the overturn in Hungary to democracy, the apparent coming fall of putin, the apparent coming fall of trump. We are I believe in a transition period in time. The year of the horse, dontcha know, is fast and furious. 😡 It does give me hope, as does PM Carney. Oh, sorry, back to your question - I think previous PM’s were afraid to anger US. And then we had Mulroney and Harper who were hand in glove with US presidents. Also we didn’t have one who was able to effectively think waaaaay outside the proverbial box. And perhaps it was also that lack of vision because of the convenience of dealing with US. Just my thoughts for what they’re worth. 🇨🇦

Powered by the Kemano Hydroelectricity facility, it produces 420,000 tones annually.
I know we have 10 smelters and 9 of them are in Quebec, but with smelters on both coasts we can export easily east or west.
And thanks to European buyers we have enjoyed a 51% month over month jump in sales to Europe in May alone, reaching 850 million USD for just that single month. And prices bid reached record highs!
We should be patting ourselves on the back for that extremely quick pivot away from the USA.

Trump keeps trying to make Canada weaker with every new squeeze... and Carney keeps looking for ways to make us **less dependent on the squeezing.**
