If Gordon Lightfoot were still with us, StrongHeart, he probably could.
But it wouldn't be a song about one storm.
It would be a ballad about a captain who ignored the weather reports, fired the navigator, blamed the compass, and then acted surprised when the ship started taking on water.
The sad part is there are a lot of good people still on board.
Great post Fred! Yes, manners mean a lot in this world & especially during this time in history. I have always been the one standing next to someone being bullied, for instance, & if necessary, I definitely speak up. When we have a bully, constantly hammering at our country, I really would love to walk into that house & shut him down, politely at first, but if necessary, one can shove their own words back down their throat! Open sesame, say ahhhhhhhhhhhhh (awww) LOL Ya, but, we are normally the most polite & mannerly people on the planet. We never have to stoop to the level of depravity being slung in our direction. Canada Strong!
If Gordon Lightfoot was alive he could write a song about the sinking of America.

Exactly!!! :)

Thanks Patsy. I think that's the key difference.
Being polite doesn't mean being weak.
It means having enough confidence that you don't need to shout to make your point.
Canada has spent decades building a reputation for fairness, cooperation, and keeping its word.
Those things may not grab headlines, but they build trust...
and trust is becoming one of the most valuable assets a country can have.
And you're right.
We don't need to sink to anyone else's level.
We can stand our ground, protect our interests, and still keep our dignity.
Canada Strong. 🇨🇦
Exactly Fred, we will be the strong arm in silence or quiet dignity. It makes bullies look like idiots, they already know that they are haha
