I suspect there are underlying threats we as citizens don’t and won’t know about, which is most likely for the best. I am of course concerned what the next generation will be challenged with, yet know that we couldn’t have a better man at the helm. What we all need is wisdom from sound leadership and searching out our information from trustworthy reliable sources (like yourself). For PM Carney to pull off what he has started he d needs a unified country. The noise from the opposition just makes me see a bit more clearly we are on the right team

a strong, united country that leaves the next generation better off than we found it.
The world is changing quickly, and Canada will need steady leadership, clear thinking, and a willingness to adapt.
Time will tell which policies succeed, but I agree that paying attention, asking questions, and learning from what's working elsewhere are all part of the job.
That means a lot, especially coming from an American watching this from the outside.
I think many Canadians are realizing that steady leadership is not boring anymore.
It may be exactly what the times require.

I’d just be careful not to make it too simple.
Ownership matters, but so do editorial choices, advertising pressure, political bias, and what stories get repeated until they feel like “common sense.”
That’s why I keep coming back to the same rule... check the facts, check the source, and don’t let anyone do your thinking for you.

I suspect you're right that governments often see risks and threats long before the public does.
That's part of their job.
What matters to me is not whether people support Carney, Poilievre, or anyone else.
It's whether we're having conversations based on facts instead of slogans.
Canada faces some big challenges over the next decade, and we'll need more unity, more critical thinking, and a lot less political theatre.
I appreciate you being part of that conversation.
