You’re Not Broken. You’re Just Overdue for an Upgrade.
Stop trying to fix yourself—and start becoming the version of you that was buried under all that old conditioning.
Hey, it’s Fred.
This one’s for the folks out there who feel like they’re spinning their wheels.
You try to change. You want to change. And maybe you even make some progress—lose a little weight, save some money, clean up your habits.
But sooner or later, it’s like gravity pulls you right back to square one.
And I’m here to tell you why.
It’s not your willpower. It’s not your schedule.
It’s your identity.
That’s right—your identity is calling the shots.
You weren’t born with this story
Somewhere between childhood and now, somebody handed you a script:
“You’ve got fat genes.”
“You’re bad with money.”
“You’re not cut out for success.”
“You’re always going to mess it up eventually.”
You didn’t write those lines. But you’ve been performing them for decades.
That’s how powerful identity is. It doesn’t just color your self-image—it locks in your habits. So even when you try to change, your old identity quietly drags you back into the version of yourself that feels familiar.
So how do you really change?
Not by “fixing yourself.” That implies something’s wrong with you.
Instead, it starts with this:
Shift your identity.
Start by asking, “Who do I want to be?”
Then describe that person in the present tense. Like this:
“I’m someone who keeps my word.
I eat well, move my body, and treat myself with respect.
I manage my money like someone who values freedom.
I’m a builder—not a fixer-upper.”
You’re not making stuff up. You’re revealing the you that got buried under bad programming and old beliefs.
And once you know who that person is, you start living like them today.
The secret sauce: presence
Every time you face a decision, ask:
“What would the new me do?”
And then do that.
That’s how identity shifting works. You’re not “trying” to change anymore. You’re being the version of you who already lives the life you want.
Sure, the old you will kick and scream for a while. That’s normal. Just keep showing up for the new one.
You’re not broken. You were just following a script that never belonged to you.
Tear it up. Start over. Not from scratch—from truth.
Let’s go build something better.
