Why I Keep These Letters Short
No fluff. Just the truth.
Dear Son,
You’ll notice something about these letters:
They’re short.
Direct.
No fluff. No lectures. No “read five more chapters to get to the point.”
I write them this way on purpose.
Because life doesn’t always give you time to read a book.
Sometimes you need a truth you can carry in your pocket.
Something you can act on right now—before the moment passes.
Everything I share in these letters… It’s stuff I learned the hard way.
Usually, it comes too late. Usually with scars.
But I’m writing it down so maybe —just maybe— you don’t have to crash the same way I did.
If I had a son, I’d want him to hear this…
Take what you need.
Leave what you don’t.
There’s no test. No guru. No right way to walk this road.
Just tips, tools, and truths that might smooth out the ride.
And if they keep you from wrecking completely, then every word was worth it.
My worst day these days is a million times better than my best day before I stopped drinking.
With love,
—Fred (GeezerWise)
