They’re Trying to Divide Canada. Let’s Make It Harder.
I want to inspire a huge team of rage bate destroyers today!
A Personal Request From Me
Over the last few months, I’ve noticed something changing online.
Not just more arguments.
Not just more political fights.
Something different.
The volume of rage, outrage, and division being pushed into Canadian social media feels unlike anything I’ve seen before.
Every day there seem to be more anonymous accounts.
More fake profiles.
More people showing up solely to inflame, insult, provoke, and divide.
Some of it is political.
Some of it is ideological.
Some of it is foreign influence.
Some of it is people making money from outrage.
And some of it is simply people who enjoy setting fires and watching others burn.
The result is the same.
Canadians are being encouraged to see other Canadians as enemies.
And that concerns me.
Because once a country loses trust in itself, everything becomes harder.
The Business Model of Outrage
Social media platforms reward engagement.
The algorithm doesn’t care whether a post makes you laugh, think, or lose your mind.
It only cares whether you react.
Anger gets reactions.
Fear gets reactions.
Outrage gets reactions.
The more emotional the content, the further it spreads.
That creates a system where the loudest voices often drown out the wisest ones.
Why Would Anyone Want This?
Good question.
Here are a few possibilities.
Some people want political power.
Some want influence.
Some want clicks, donations, and advertising revenue.
Some want Canadians distracted from real issues.
Some foreign actors would love to see Canada become as polarized and dysfunctional as other countries.
A divided country is easier to manipulate than a united one.
Always has been.
Always will be.
My Question
Before you react to the next outrageous post...
Before you share that meme...
Before you type that angry comment...
Ask yourself…
Who benefits if Canadians stop trusting each other?
Because that answer tells you a lot.
This Is Where You Come In…
I rarely ask readers to do anything.
Today I’m making an exception.

The goal isn’t to promote GeezerWise.
The goal is to encourage Canadians to think before they react.
To verify before they amplify.
To remember that the person on the other side of the screen is usually another Canadian trying to make sense of a confusing world.
Let’s Build Something Better
What if we created a tribe of Canadians who refused to be manipulated?
People who value facts over fury.
Thinking over shouting.
Questions over accusations.
Common sense over tribalism.
Not left.
Not right.
Canada first.
If that sounds like you, then welcome aboard.
Share the message.
Start the conversation.
Push back against the division.
Because… the people trying to pull this country apart are counting on us doing nothing.
Let’s disappoint them.

GeezerWise
The Gut-Punch
The next time a post makes your blood boil, don’t ask whether it’s true.
Ask who profits if you believe it.
That question alone would stop half the manipulation on the internet.
🔎 The GeezerWise Standard
This space is built on disciplined thinking.
Facts over spin.
Verification before amplification.
Good-faith discussion over tribal noise.

I outed a Russian bot today.
With this:
#YouAreARussianBot 🤖
твоя мать знает, что ты хуеплёт?
“Does your mother know that you're a dickhead?”
Russian botnets want us angry. Fringe groups operating in Canada, domestic or foreignly funded want us angry. Political use of AI, as by way of example, showing a certain clown with a crown, fying a plane and dumping poop on citizens was designed to anger.
Heed Geezerwise' words. The garbage will arrive. Each one of us can personally refuse it's acceptance. Vet your sources, and be sleuth like in considering who is posting, and who it serves. We help each other every day we choose to stop the baton hand off of material that's designed to disturb.
