The Pain You Can’t Touch (And Why I’ve Been Quiet)
My first experience with a medical issue called Peripheral Neuropathy.
Hey friends —
If you’ve noticed I’ve been quieter than usual, here’s the real reason why:
I’ve been dealing with shooting nerve pain in my left foot. The kind of pain that shows up uninvited, fires like electricity from the inside, and makes my foot jump like it's trying to escape my body.
I sleep in a recliner these days, and this pain doesn’t show up politely.
It strikes when I’m finally drifting off… and suddenly I’m wide awake, frustrated, and trying to talk myself out of punching a pillow. I calm down, get a little sleep — and then it zaps me again.
It’s not life-threatening. It won’t make the evening news. But let me tell you:
Even “non-serious” pain can chip away at your peace.
When your sleep gets hijacked night after night, you start losing things — your focus, your creativity, your patience, your spark.
And I’ve worked too damn hard to protect my spark.
I ordered a Canadian-made cream called Remedy Mama that’s supposed to help with nerve issues and muscle cramping. It arrived today, and I’m hoping it helps. (No affiliate link — just an honest geezer’s attempt to get some peace.)
I’m sharing this because I know I’m not the only one dealing with invisible pain. If you’re going through something that doesn’t look serious on the outside but is chewing at your quality of life — I see you.
I’m there too.
And I’ll be back soon — clearer, sharper, maybe a little more limber.
Thanks for sticking with me.
