📜 Letter to My Son (If I Had One)
“The Mud Will Settle”
Hey Son,
When life gets messy—and it will—don’t thrash.
You’ll want to fix it. Run from it. Control it.
You’ll want to stir the water just to feel like you’re doing something.
But all that does is make it murkier.
Instead, just sit.
Breathe.
Wait.
Like muddy water in a jar—if you let it sit still long enough, it clears.
The same thing happens in you.
When you stop reacting, the chaos settles.
When you stop clinging, the pain floats down.
When you stop fighting, clarity rises to the top.
Stillness isn’t weakness, son. It’s strength in disguise.
So don’t be afraid to pause.
The answer doesn’t always come from motion.
Sometimes, it waits for silence.
Let the mud settle.
Then you'll see what's real.
Love,
—Dad
