As my son would say, he's de lulu (delusional) or however you spell it LOL, I just shake my head, the man can not have all his mental faculties in the right place.

Haha… “de lulu” might be the most polite diagnosis I’ve heard all week. 😄

Honestly, sometimes humour is the only sane response left.

Here’s something light you can drop in without turning it mean...

“De lulu” is about right. 😄

At a certain point you stop trying to decode the logic and just go…

“Okay… we’re not operating in reality anymore.”

When Donald Trump talks about things like “fields of lumber” or tariffs fixing everything, it feels less like policy and more like late-night rambling.

And you can’t negotiate with rambling.

So yeah… head shake is the correct strategy.

No rage required.

Just...

sip coffee

“Alright then…”

Oh dear God, the president of my country is trying to extort another Nation.

Fred Ferguson (GeezerWise)'s avatar

It really does feel that blunt, doesn’t it?

Strip away the speeches and spin and it’s basically...

“Nice trade relationship you’ve got there… shame if something happened to it.”

When Donald Trump treats diplomacy like a shakedown, it stops being leadership and starts looking like a protection racket.

And honestly, most of us up here in Canada aren’t even angry anymore... just tired of the theatrics.

Trade should be boring.

Bridges should be boring.

Policy should be boring.

Boring means it’s working.

The chaos is the weird part.

Hang in there... the adults always end up cleaning up eventually.

You mean again.

Fred Ferguson (GeezerWise)'s avatar

Yep.

Not “trying.”

Again.

With Donald Trump, it’s basically the same play on repeat...

Tariff.

Threat.

Tantrum.

Repeat.

At this point it’s not foreign policy... it’s background noise with a megaphone. 😄

Yes, I definitely should have 'added 'again’. I'd already pushed the send button.

Some background info on the bridge:

Good share.

For folks who don’t know the backstory... this wasn’t some sudden political drama.

The Gordie Howe International Bridge has been in the works for 20+ years because one private crossing... the Ambassador Bridge... basically had a monopoly.

The owner didn’t want competition cutting into toll money, so he fought the new bridge with lawsuits, lobbying, the whole circus.

Not “national security.”

Not “patriotism.”

Just… profits.

Which makes today’s tantrums even funnier.

This thing was planned, funded, and approved long before the current noise.

It’s just boring infrastructure and basic economics.

Adults solving a bottleneck.

Only now it’s being treated like some grand conspiracy. 😄

He’s an idiot

Fred Ferguson (GeezerWise)'s avatar

Hard to argue with the results lately. 😄

But honestly, I’ve stopped trying to diagnose him.

At this point Donald Trump just feels like background noise.

The grown-ups build bridges.

He yells at them.

One of those actually moves trucks and jobs.

I know which one matters.

Kathy's avatar

Are we surprised? He is a jerk

Fred Ferguson (GeezerWise)'s avatar

Surprised? Not even a little. 😄

With Donald Trump, it’s basically the same script every week...

Find something working…

yell at it…

call it unfair.

Meanwhile Canada just keeps building and moving on.

At this point it’s less “shocking” and more “background noise.”

Annoying, sure.

But not steering the ship.

Notice at all that I’ve been pretty quiet lately? Probably not and that’s ok lol. My patience has run out for that POSOTUS.

I still read what you print. Thank you!

Fred Ferguson (GeezerWise)'s avatar

I noticed the quiet… but I figured you were just protecting your sanity. 😄

Totally get it.

There’s only so much bandwidth anyone should give Donald Trump before it just turns into emotional junk food.

Sometimes the healthiest move is less doomscrolling, more real life.

Means a lot that you’re still reading, though. Truly.

I’ll keep translating the circus into plain English so you don’t have to wade through the mess yourself.

That’s the deal. 👍

I appreciate it! I stopped watching the news the first time he was « elected » and now he’s 100 times worse.

My New Year’s resolution was to be nicer but he and his sycophants make it extremely hard. I may have broken my resolution about 100 times in the first week of January lol

Thank you for the translation!

What next?? lol.

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—In his ongoing quest for honors, on Wednesday Donald J. Trump demanded that former President Barack Obama be named after him.

In a flurry of late-night Truth Social posts, Trump insisted that the 44th president be renamed “Barack Donald Obama Trump.”

Trump said that if his demand was not met he would “immediately cut off all federal aid to Hawaii.”

Speaking to reporters, Obama was philosophical, noting, “At least he didn’t say Kenya. That’s progress, I guess.”
