Confession: I Almost Bit on the Latest AI Buzzword (But I Didn’t)
All that glitters isn’t gold... it’s usually just another shiny distraction.
I’ll admit it… after three decades sober, I still get hooked by shiny things.
Not whiskey anymore, but buzzwords.
This week’s temptation? Something called Vibe Coding.
Sounds like the next cool side hustle, right? Coding with incense burning, jazz on the stereo, and money rolling in while you hum along. The PLR sales pitch even dangled it like a golden ticket: “Turn everyday ideas into apps without writing a single line of code!”
For a hot minute, I leaned in. “Hmm, maybe this could be worth a spin.”
But then I caught myself.
Here’s the truth:
Vibe coding is just another AI buzzword. Fancy way of saying, “tell the AI what you want and it pukes out some code.”
That’s fine if you’re a hobbyist who likes tinkering, but I have zero interest in debugging AI’s half-baked scripts at 2 a.m.
And more importantly—it’s not in my lane.
My lane is prompts, funnels, and practical digital hustles that a real person (even one in their 70s) can use today to earn online. That’s what fascinates me. That’s what I can teach with conviction.
So I passed.
And that’s the real point of this confession: we’re all human. We all get lured. Doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out or if you’ve got scars from chasing every online money scheme since dial-up. Shiny objects will keep coming.
The only skill that matters is the one where you pause, ask:
👉 “Is this in my lane?
👉 Or is this just a distraction dressed in neon?”
I’ve wasted too much of my life wandering off into other people’s hype. I don’t need to do it anymore. Neither do you.
Shiny objects don’t go away. They just get rebranded. Our job is to build the muscle that says, “Nice idea, but not for me.”
That’s how you stay profitable and, more importantly, sane.
