While Canada couldn't move the ring, it's trying very hard to step over the ropes before it ends up on them. In much the same manner as China we are finding new trade partners and opportunities. Also, we are no longer selling raw material exclusively but more semi-processed material. We are manufacturing products we used to import and using the armament buildup to both develop our manufacturing capacity and our solidarity with NATO and our new friends. Whether we need to hold our environmental noses or not, oil is smoothing the way to solvency. As a middle nation coming to the same conclusions as China we are following a similar path with a Canadian twist.
To grossly oversimplify, Trump is playing Chutes and Ladders while China is playing Go.
Now with Trump in charge, America is NO match against China.
