Exactly what I see, expressed eloquently.

Great informative post Fred!!! In fact, all that negativity is constantly spewing from the mouth of DS! No one wants to pay attention to a constant diet of that, every single day! PP, ya, go away & peee somewhere else, maybe somewhere on a new diet that activates brain cells! haha Take DS with you, she's short of them as well! That's my opinion, no one has to like it haha

Patsy,

I think a lot of Canadians have simply hit fatigue levels with permanent outrage politics.

People can handle disagreement.

What wears them down is non-stop anger with no visible path forward attached to it.

I believe you are right Fred! I go on facebook for instance, to have discussion, & or laughs with my family & friends, then we encounter this rubbish & what to do now? Try to help them realize that is not true. you read the wrong book, here's the truth. No go! My GrandDad used to quote this line: "Speak the truth & speak it ever, cost you what it will, he who hides the wrong he's done, does the wrong thing still." Well, I have lived that all my life, just toss the truth out there, those who don't like it...oh well LOL

Sadly DS is much smarter than I would like to give her credit for, unfortunately that is what makes her dangerous. She is horrible for Alberta and the country as a whole, but she is also like a cockroach. She always comes back even when you think she burnt all her bridges.

Conservatives are IDU Puppets… time we call it - they are here for control not governing, they have no interest in adapting to us, rather they are prepared to force us to their way..

We have to treat them like the pirates in political suits they are. Send them to The Hague.

You can feel the frustration boiling over in a lot of people right now Josee.

I think the bigger political danger for Conservatives is that more voters are starting to see ideology first… and practical governing second.

That perception is incredibly hard to reverse once it settles in.

The problem you outline here is a problem within the CPC that has been in the conservative party since the 2000s.

The reform party was formed in opposition to the PC party of Brian Mulroney.

The reform movement had some relevant complaints. Unfortunately those complaints could only be addressed by constitutional changes. (The Canadian senate and provincial representation, which are problematic and do unfairly represent BC, AB, SK and MB).

However these issues have been turned into grievance politics where everything is blamed on either the liberals or Ottawa. This culture of grievance seems to be the whole conservative movement nowadays. Represented in both the UPC and the CPC.

What started out as legitimate issues have been shorthand to western alienation and the current grievance politics of the UPC. The emotion first politics of the republicans is well suited to undefined grievances. It’s hard to address what is considered unfair when it’s not defined and no concrete solution is provided to address it.

The CPC doesn’t know what it wants to be. It’s too focused on trying to be in power, while not focusing on why they want that power to begin with. PP loves to say that the country is broken, but never tells us how to fix it.

It’s really easy to criticize, it’s much harder to create something that works. The republicans win elections, but they never seem to fix anything. This is the playbook that the CPC seems to be running.

In times of uncertainty people don’t need to be told things are bad, they need to know what can be done to make things better.

Something the CPC seems incapable or unwilling to do. That and standing up for Canada are the two biggest issues that PP is unwilling to address.

The worst part of this is, I really want to see a strong opposition party that can keep the government’s feet to the fire and make our country stronger. But year after year the conservatives fail to be that party.
