I envy you Canada, you have a very clever and intelligent leader who cares for your country . I am glad hou appreciate what he is doing. I wish the population in England felt the same about our prime Minister. He inherited a country that had been starved by Tory Austerity and is trying to make things better with the

Media( owned by millionaires) fighting against him. Much like the problem you have in Alberta.

Yes, we need our problem to go away, just as you do Penny. Stay strong & informed & support in any way that you can, that is the key.

He definitely inherited a mess, Penny.

Hard to fix years of damage overnight... especially when media noise gets louder than facts.

We’re learning that lesson here too. 🤝

It sounds great Fred. But you know it has just been announced that Canada is in a technical recession.

PP of course is on the news making hay with this announcement.

I really cannot stand that POS.

Fred Ferguson (GeezerWise)'s avatar

I hear you, Carol-Ann. But recessions don’t appear overnight...

they’re usually the result of years of momentum, global shocks, and economic hangovers.

I’m watching what Carney does, not what PP says on TV. Time will tell.

Hahahaha, anything that spouts outta that losers mouth is hogwash, no need to worry about that! Negative Nellies exist, glance toward Alberta for a good example, PP, or the orange ball, they are all cut from the same cloth, that's why they all hang out together! Birds of a feather!

Haha… I think a lot of people are just tired, frustrated, and looking for someone to blame, Patsy.

Emotions are running hot these days.

I’m trying to stay focused on outcomes more than noise.

The coordination with SAAB on the GlobalEye system is smart - it’s obviously better to be part of the supply chain than merely a customer. And a customer who is being taken advantage of.

Fred Ferguson (GeezerWise)'s avatar

That’s a sharp observation, Kevin.

Being inside the supply chain gives Canada more leverage, more jobs, and fewer dependency headaches down the road.

Big difference between being a partner and just a customer.

Well said again Fred! One message & I am updated on how Canada is doing without even having to look it up :) I think we are moving in the right direction & we have the right PM for this time in our history. The world keeps changing faster than we can hardly realize. We all need to keep up, stay tuned & support wherever we can. Canada Strong!!!

Thanks Patsy 😊

That’s exactly what I’m trying to do... help translate the chaos into plain English.

Canada Strong

Right from the outset of the renegotiations on CUSMA with the USA I knew that the SAAB Gripen fighter plane versus the F-35 purchase decision would be a large part of the discussions. This is a huge card for Canada to play and I think that Canada should stand on its head to insist that if the USA does not drop ALL of the tariffs on autos, aluminum, steel, and lumber, and on the condition that the USA does not put on any tariff of any kind for any reason for the next ten years, then Canada will proceed with buying the F-35. If the USA does not agree to these terms the purchase should go to Sweden. Economically it's the best move for Canada to buy the Gripen, but to get rid of the tariffs, they're going to give up something of substance.
