Canada is certainly taking steps towards solidifying its defense posture. In addition to the purchase of the Aussie over the horizon radar system, Telesat Canada, in a $5 billion partnership with the Government of Canada, is launching its Lightspeed Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network to replace the Elon Musk owned Starlink system. This would result in Canada not being βheld hostageβ by foreign interests for its military communications. This is especially vital in support of new drone military technology, something that Canada definitely needs to focus on going forward.
Good point, Kevin. The Telesat Lightspeed project is a big piece of the puzzle that doesnβt get nearly enough attention.
Strategic communications infrastructure... especially LEO satellites... is becoming just as important as ships, aircraft, and radar systems.
If Canada wants real operational independence in areas like drones, surveillance, and Arctic security, having its own secure satellite network matters a lot.
Our lives are rapidly changing & being threatened. I really appreciate your posts & love your honesty.

Thank you for this substack.
Thank you, Arlene... I really appreciate that.
My goal is just to cut through the noise and look at whatβs actually happening in the world as clearly as possible.
Iβm glad the posts are helpful.
