We, Canadians, owe the U.S. and (gasp) Trump a huge thank you! Because of the actions and attitudes of both we elected a leader who is pragmatic, disciplined and educated. He is guiding Canada on a path of independence and self-sufficiency that has gained Canada respect and promise. At first we were a colony of the U.K. and we seemed to like that status so we became a colony of the U.S. The instability of that position has helped us move on and grow into our capacity, which is unlimited. We are grateful; goodbye.
I will continue to believe that Mark Carney “read the room” in terms of what we were in for with a poilievre-led conservative government, and came forward to serve. I could not be more grateful.
Thinking absolutely that clarity and discipline do go a long way, and especially right now. Also the competence and the very human quality of being so very genuine. How did we get so bloody lucky. 🍀 Thanks Fred!

Jim, there’s some truth in that.
Sometimes it takes a little pressure from the outside to remind a country what it’s capable of on its own.
Feels like we’re in one of those moments.
And we Americans who have brains are *so* envious of you!
djw, appreciate that...
but there are plenty of smart, grounded Americans too.
Feels like both countries are being tested right now in different ways.
Jim, I could not agree more. Thank you.
Good to see the conversation landing, Sulaiman
These are the kinds of discussions that actually move things forward.
Agree absolutely! We need to concentrate on the long term prospects and oppose and other party - primarily the Conservatives - from leading us astray.
Scott, long-term thinking is exactly what’s needed right now.
This isn’t about one party getting it right...
it’s about making decisions that actually strengthen the country over time.
Great information, Geezer!
Thanks Scott, appreciate that.
Just trying to cut through the noise and keep things grounded.

Patricia, it definitely feels like he stepped in at a moment when the country was looking for steadiness.
Time will tell how it all plays out... but clarity and discipline go a long way right now.
