Honestly I genuinely don’t know what to think about these floor crossings at this point because on one hand it is once again showing the glaring weaknesses within the Conservative Party but my question is what are they going to do about those weaknesses?

Cause so far the answer seems to be nothing and that to me is the biggest problem because although I don’t identify as a conservative I still see the need to have a strong opposition but either they don’t seem interested in being that or the reform have completely taken hold of the party to the point where they can’t and I don’t know which it is

Kyle, I think you’re putting your finger on the real issue.

A healthy democracy needs a strong opposition. Not just loud… strong. Credible. Electable.

Floor crossings don’t happen because everything is fine inside a party. They happen when people start doubting direction, leadership, or long-term viability.

Whether this is a temporary phase or something deeper inside the Conservative coalition is the big unanswered question right now.

Either way, competition makes governments better. Without it, complacency creeps in.

Appreciate the thoughtful comment.

Same sentiment here Kyle, not a conservative. We still need ideas and debates.

Just to let you know, the MP crossing the floor is Matt Jeneroux. Somehow, the spelling in your articles is not coming through correctly.

Thank you for catching that Ravyn. I just corrected both now.

Oh my Fred, I lived in the Detroit area for 27 years & was so proud of Canadians for electing Prime Minister Mark Carney after our orange Felon 34 started with all his 51st state crap. I also loved how Canadians would turn a U.S. product in the stores upside down so the next customer could go - uh oh, not today & then walk away. And I loved how the Las Vegas mayor was begging Canadians to come back. I’m so glad to have found you; I love your self proclaimed name GeezerWise & look forward to your further adventures. I closely follow Dean Blundell & count on him to keep me informed about what’s going on in my country. Did you see his reports from Greenland? Amazing! Cheriooo and Elbows Up!! 🇨🇦 🇺🇸

Sherry, I love this comment.

You captured the mood perfectly. Canadians are usually pretty calm people… until you poke the maple leaf. Then suddenly everyone remembers who they are.

I’m really glad you found your way here. Welcome aboard.

And yes… I read Dean's posts and agree he does great work.

Elbows up!
